Best Oral Presentation or Best Poster Presentation by an Indigenous health researcher.
Two prizes of a maximum $500.00 will be awarded at the PSANZ Congress for Best Oral or Poster Presentation by an Indigenous health researcher.

The purpose of this award is to recognise and acknowledge research contributions of Indigenous researchers. Examples of potential applicants might include (and not limited to) Māori health researchers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander, Indigenous Pasifika peoples, First Nation peoples, Kaumātua and Kuia.

Criteria

To be eligible for an Indigenous Health Award the nominee must:

Present and be first author of the submitted abstract
Have not received the award before
Be of Indigenous descent (self-identified by the applicant)
Have noted their eligibility and wish for consideration for the Indigenous Health Award on the abstract at the time of submission
Self-nomination for consideration for this award must be made at the time of abstract submission. Only 1 abstract from each applicant can be nominated for this award and this must be clearly identified at the time of abstract submission.

The Indigenous Health Award will be assessed and awarded by a committee that includes Indigenous clinicians and/or researchers, and will include an evaluation of how the project contributes to Indigenous health and wellbeing (including workforce development).

Eligibility

The successful applicant will:

  • Participate in the PSANZ Congress, including the closing ceremony
  • Write a report on the experience for the PSANZ membership

Amount

$500 Award x 2
Winners of this award will receive payment into their nominated bank account post-event.

Award will be announced on the final day of Annual PSANZ Congress
